Why WHISPERING WINDS Exists
Somewhere along the way, tea became a commodity. Anonymous blends, vague labels, leaves that could be from anywhere and are treated as though they came from nowhere. We started WHISPERING WINDS s.r.o. because we believe tea deserves better — and so do the people who drink it and the people who grow it.
Our mission is simple to state and endlessly rewarding to pursue:
To make truly honest tea — traceable, fresh, and fairly sourced — an everyday pleasure, and to bring back the quiet ritual of a properly brewed cup.
Everything we do, from the gardens we buy from to the way we answer an email, flows from that single sentence.
What We’re Working Toward
A cup you can trust completely. We want every person who buys from WHISPERING WINDS to know exactly what they’re drinking: where it grew, when it was picked, and why we chose it. No mystery blends, no vague origins, no marketing fog.
A fairer tea chain. The distance between a tea garden and a teacup is often filled with middlemen and margins, while the people doing the hardest work see the least of it. By sourcing as directly as we can, we aim to shift more value toward the growers — and prove that a small Czech company can do business this way and thrive.
Fresher tea as the standard, not the exception. Tea is a seasonal, living product. Our mission includes changing what people expect: that tea should be bought fresh, stored well, and enjoyed at its peak — not forgotten in a cupboard.
More slow moments. We believe the ritual of brewing tea — the kettle, the wait, the first sip — is a small act of resistance against a hurried world. If we can give people a few genuinely calm minutes a day, we consider that a success worth measuring.
The Commitments Behind the Mission
A mission is only as good as the promises that back it up. Ours are these:
- We taste everything. No tea joins our collection without being personally evaluated by our team — every batch, every season.
- We tell the truth on the label. Origin, harvest, and honest tasting notes, written to inform rather than impress.
- We ask hard questions of our suppliers. About quality, about freshness, and about how people are treated. Unclear answers mean no deal.
- We stay small enough to care. Growth is welcome, but never at the cost of knowing our teas — and our customers — personally.
- We keep learning. Tea is a lifetime study. We travel, taste, read, and listen, and we pass everything we learn on to you.
Measuring What Matters
We don’t measure our success only in sales. We measure it in returning customers who trust our recommendations without hesitation. In growers who want to keep working with us season after season. In the messages we get at [email protected] that start with “I never liked tea until…”
Those are the numbers we’re proudest of.
